GPFM Private Sector Engagement Workshop
On 29 April 2024, the GPFM organized an online private sector workshop aiming to discuss the creation of a dedicated private sector Advisory Board for the Mission.
This international workshop was part of the ongoing work that the Mission has been doing to bolster private sector engagement in the present and future activities and sprints to achieve its overall goal of demonstrating that, by 2030, power systems in different geographies and climates are able to effectively integrate up to 100% variable renewable energy. It was highly interactive with participants given the opportunity to deliver input verbally or in written form and was structured in two main interactive sessions.
The first session gathered the key Mission stakeholders to provide indications on present R&I needs (priority/barriers/technological breakthrough), propose new activities, suggest potential partnerships, and discuss how an Advisory Board (or other options) might add value to the activities currently underway. The second session focused on how to structure the Advisory Board in a way that could have added value to the Mission and included input from members on which organizations, companies, associations, or incubators could be involved, its governance, how it would report to the Mission.
